Description
This collection of twelve African songs is primarily intended for use by teachers and students in schools and other communal contexts. English translations of the texts are given as well as phonetic transcriptions and a pronunciation guide. Suggestions are given on rhythmic accompaniments that can be used with the songs.
Robert Mawuena Kwami is a lecturer in music education at the institute of Education, University of London. He holds degrees from Reading University (BA in Music) and the University of London Institute of Education (MA in Music Education and PhD). He also holds a diploma in the teaching of singing from the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) and a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) from Reading University.
His extensive teaching experience has been gained by working in schools, colleges and universities in Ghana, NIgeria, England, Wales and Scotland. He is an active workshop clinician and composer.
