Not to be confused with the trio of the same name with John McLaughlin, this Shakti is a group centered around vocalist Gabrielle Roth and her husband, Robert Ansell. There are contributions from a number of players, including Scott Ansell and Jai Uttal. These are traditional mantras from the Buddhist and Krishna traditions set in contemporary style with rhythms — both organic and programmed — as well as chorals and chants.
